1/23/1970 & 1/24/1970 just about completely tell the tape of the tape, on this Magical! I mean talk about serious-props to the Band during this-time, or - as I should rightfully & more properly say... To the Good Ol' (' Newest') Grateful Dead direction, style & musical-fashion!!!

" Meld " of " Live/Dead-meets-Workingman's Dead "!!! The Country, Rock & Cowboy-like infused tunes & tones of the really Brand-New " Workingman's Dead " G. Such a change of events indeed at this time, and captured here Wonderfully!

I mean let's put it this way... If " Live/Dead " was one tasty chocolate wafer, and " Workingman's Dead " was the-other tasty chocolate wafer - then this brief period / era here is-indeed something like the Double-Stuff!

And, I've been thinking this would be a G. " Pick " dating back to the Marvelous! " Dick's Picks " Era, as I'm quite certain it was in the back, or even forefront of Dick Latvala's mind. You know, I mean Dick had no-choice but to initially deal out so-many " Vital " Dead Shows...

I mean - can I hear you say Dick's Picks Volume # 16! I mean even Dick himself referred to 5/2/1970 Binghampton as The! And that-Fans, is a Fact!

Than even ever before, for sure. You are treated to a way-kind China > Rider! Right off of the bat, with this set - from 1/23 - with a Down, Dirty & Mean! - a Rockin' Casey Jones! - and then as for Disc 2...

These three version just really " resonated " with my own Dead-Head! He most, and it truly was. To hear this Set, in this digitally-mastered release format... As quite frankly, this release does indeed' bury' my old-trusty (& dusty) analogs. Not this time - and not even close! Jeff Norman, as we'll take-it! I mean will somebody just serve me an ice-cold Mai Tai!!! Where to get the good-ones down there The-Best! Here now well into this' New Millennium'... But, then again this Show was indeed close to 55-Years Ago!

What a couple of Dead Shows!!! - I mean just check-out the Surfing Terrapin! On the Cover of this-one, as he appears to have absolutely no-complaints at all what so ever.

"Workingman's Dead" Fin des années 1960 / début des années 1970 ! Et bien sachez que ça ne peut pas être mieux que les 23 et 24 janvier 1970...

Quand le bon vieux Grateful Dead joue en live ! La toute dernière période de la bande à 7 membres ! Avec Jerry - Pigpen - Bobby - Billy - Phil - Mickey... Enfin, mais absolument et définitivement pas le moindre... Garcia qui déchire avec une Fender Strat !

Et mon Dieu, mes collègues fans, un simple regard sur les chansons incluses dans ce coffret de 3 CD - des deux concerts du 23 et 24 janvier 1970 - raconte pratiquement tout, sur cette période magique ! Je veux dire, parlons sérieusement des compliments à faire au groupe à cette époque, ou plutôt devrais-je dire... à la direction, au style et à la mode musicale du bon vieux Grateful Dead (le plus "récent") ! C'est un mélange complètement magnifique de "Live/Dead" qui rencontre "Workingman's Dead" !

Avec le son lourd, unique et breveté de G. Les tonalités de country, de rock et de cowboy de ce tout nouvel album "Workingman's Dead" de G. Un tel changement d'événements à cette époque, capturé ici de manière merveilleuse !

Je veux dire, soyons clairs... Si "Live/Dead" était une gaufrette au chocolat délicieuse, et que "Workingman's Dead" était l'autre gaufrette au chocolat délicieuse - alors cette courte période / ère est quelque chose comme une Double-Stuff ! De la crème à l'intérieur ! Et, j'ai pensé que ce serait un choix idéal remontant à l'époque merveilleuse des "Dick's Picks", car je suis assez certain que c'était dans l'esprit de Dick Latvala, en arrière-plan ou même en avant-plan. Vous savez, je veux dire que Dick n'avait pas le choix de distribuer autant de concerts "vitaux" du Grateful Dead...

Je veux dire - pouvez-vous m'entendre dire Dick's Picks Volume #16 ! Je veux dire que Dick lui-même a qualifié le concert du 2 mai 1970 à Binghampton comme le spectacle de tous les spectacles ! Et cela, mes amis, est un fait ! L'héritage de cette sortie est plus fort que jamais, c'est certain.

Aussi, pour cette question ensoleillée... Vous êtes traité à un China > Rider vraiment sympa dès le début avec ce coffret - du 23 janvier - avec un Casey Jones rock, sale et méchant !

Style en plein air d'Other One ! - et puis, pour le disque 2... >>> Dark Star > St. Vous voyez ce que je veux dire par "avoir besoin" de ce coffret ?

Le disque 3 présente une sélection de chansons du concert du 24 janvier, avec Cumberland Blues ! - Good Lovin' pour la deuxième fois ! - Dancin' In The Street - et... Et, personnellement - et en fonction de mes goûts et de mon style en général... Dans mon "top 3" des favoris, et oui, c'est très difficile de choisir... Mais je vais choisir Dark Star du 23 janvier ! Ces trois versions ont vraiment "résonné" avec mon propre Dead-Head ! Le plus, et c'était vraiment le cas. Entendre ce coffret, dans ce format de sortie numériquement remasterisé... Car, franchement, cette sortie enterre vraiment mes vieilles cassettes analogiques. Pas cette fois - et pas même proche !

Cette sortie "début des années 70"... Je veux dire, quelqu'un peut-il me servir un Mai Tai bien frais !!! Comme je sais où les trouver les meilleurs là-bas ! Nous sommes maintenant bien dans ce nouveau millénaire...

Mais, en même temps, ce concert remonte à près de 55 ans ! Quels concerts du Grateful Dead !!! - je veux dire, regardez la Tortue Surfante sur la pochette de celui-ci, on dirait qu'elle n'a absolument aucune plainte du tout.
